Reaching Disadvantaged and At-Risk Students

This week's Pennsylvania Newsmakers focuses on some of the state's most important education problems and creative solutions to deal with them. On the first part of the program, Dr. Nick Trombetta, Superintendent of the Midland, PA School District and CAO of the Western Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, and Dr. Ron Hall, Director of the School's Eastern Support Center, discuss a variety of creative learning techniques and programs for reaching children. On the second part of the show, Nelson Swarts, Ex. Director of the Fund for the Advancement of the State System of Higher Education, and Dennis Darling, Director of Community Services for the Department of Community and Economic Development, discuss the innovative Neighborhood Assistance Tax Credit Program and a State System scholarship program. Terry Madonna of Millersville University is host of the program.
