Healthcare Costs, and the Future for Slots
This week's Pennsylvania Newsmakers features a discussion of the affordability of health insurance, especially for the state's small businesses, and an update on the prospects for slots at the state's race tracks. Roger Zimmer, the President of the Builders Association, and Guy Donaldson, the President of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, present arguments about the difficulties that small businesses face in providing health insurance to their employees. In the second part of the program Tom Kauffman, the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association, outlines the plight of the state's horse racing industry, describes the flight of consumer spending to other states, and talks about the legislative status of slots at race tracks. G. Terry Madonna, Director of Millersville University's Center For Politics and Public Affairs, is host of the program.
